Ms. Kwilos' students are working very hard to create ebooks using their iPads. Students create ebooks to explain what they are learning. Publishing ebooks is an example of how our teachers are integrating technology into the curriculum and how students are focusing on 21st Century Learning skills (creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication). It is important that we teach students to be flexible in their thinking and to be creative when solving problems. These skills are preparing students for a world that is changing rapidly and for careers that are unknown. Students in Ms. Kwilos' class write across the curriculum, meaning they are writing in math, social studies, and science. Writing across content areas is a life skill and is an important skill in the Common Core State Standards.
