In this featured lesson, Ms. Schayer worked with Ms. Jackson's 2nd grade class to learn about making inferences when reading. The students explored "clean trash" to learn the skill of inferencing. They used the clues in the trash, and what they already knew about the items, to infer information about the people who may have thrown these items away. The inferencing skill from this lesson will then be transferred to real reading.
