Are you using Google Plus Communities in a similar way? If so, what are you posting and how are you using it with colleagues for curriculum implementation, development, and articulation? Looking forward to your feedback and ideas!
We are a PreK-8 school district and with one other elementary district feed into a high school district. Recently, the high school Curriculum Director and I were having one of our regular monthly meetings and began discussing Google+. During this meeting, we were also brainstorming how we, along with our Instructional Coaches/Tech Coaches, could collaborate and share more via social media. I had just read a post on Educational Technology and Mobile Learning, 11 Steps to Create a Google Plus Community for your Class, and it came to me that we could set up a Google Plus Community for our 3 Districts to share via Google+. We set up a Community, Curriculum Articulation, so that we can post ideas, comments, links, etc. to support and communicate about our curriculum development and alignment between the three school districts. So far, we have set up these categories within our Community: Assessment, Tech Integration, Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, and PBL/Inquiry. We kept the Community private but now I wish that we had made it public with permission to join. Currently, Google+ does not let you change the public/private status of the Community.
