I use goo.gl URL shortener several times a day. This web application and extension in Google Drive can quickly shorten the current website URL that you are using. In addition to shortening the web URL, the extension will provide a QR code, auto copy the URL to the clipboard, and provide a history and details about the link that was provided to others. An example of what the information from the extension looks like: Below is a screenshot of the web application. Click on details to access graphs and additional information about the link you provided. Notice the last column that tells you how many times that someone clicked on the link.

I tend to use bit.y as my URL shortener of choice. It keeps track of sites you have marked as well as making them shorter.

I love QR Code feature of the Google Shortener, and Shortening tools altogether! They make it so much easier to share and post links online and offline! I have been using bitly.com for some time now and really like that it catalogs all of your Shorts and makes them searchable. One of my favorite features is that if you shorten a link and that original link disappears or is taken offline, your shortened link will remain in tact! There is also a Chrome extension for bitly which makes it a nice integral part of your web browser. Good stuff!
